Grab — the region’s largest ride hailing and multi service platform — have taken on the role as the official ride-hailing partner for the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.
Grab is the first ride-hailing service in Malaysia to partner with the biggest sporting event in the country this year.
As the official ride-hailing partner, Grab will be providing special promotions and offers for the public throughout the SEA Games period – so fans can enjoy seamless and safe, convenient rides to their selected venues.
This partnership also highlights the ‘KL 2017 Green Games’ initiative to reduce the number of cars on the road, to curb congestion, and to be more eco-friendly.
Apart from promo codes, the ride-hailing service will also be on standby to provide free buggy services for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women.
Country Marketing Head Iris Chang added that the free buggy service will also be used to ferry customers who use Grab to the venues.
“Besides that, we will also set up booking kiosk in all public transport hubs and all event venues with specific pick up and drop off points to facilitate the spectators,” she told Bernama.
“As a Malaysian homegrown company, we are beyond ecstatic to be part of this event.” said Sean Goh, who is the Country Head for Grab Malaysia.
“Firstly, our participation affirms our commitment to ensure all athletes, fellow tourists and supporters have access to safe, convenient and comfortable rides. Secondly, we want to help create an eco-friendly sporting event by reducing traffic congestion to and around the venues, thus reducing carbon emissions.” he added.
The 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games will be happening from 19th until 31st August.
